Recycling at Lisle Township Supervisor’s Office

We all share the environment here in Lisle Township and we have partnered with several organizations to help become a resource for the community. Lisle Township is currently working with SCARCE, eWorks, Lion’s Club, and Working Bikes to securely collect the following items:

  • Small Scale Servers

  • Wire, Cable, Cords, Adapters

  • Power Supplies

  • Ballasts (fluorescent tubes & bulbs must be removed)

  • Cable receivers

  • CD/DVD/VCR Players & Recorders

  • Digital Converter Boxes

  • Fax Machines, Printers, Scanners

  • Microwaves & Toasters

  • Projectors

  • Stereos & Speakers (NO wooden speakers)

  • Video Game Consoles

  • Books

  • Musical Instruments

  • Bread Tags

  • Puzzles

  • Computers (CPU’s, Laptops, Tablets, Computer Batteries)

  • Computer Drives, Circuit Boards, Docking Stations

  • Hard Drives & Mainframes

  • Keyboards, Mice, Modems

  • Holiday String Lights

  • Cell Phones & Landline Phones

  • Blenders & Coffee Pots (no glass carafes)

  • Cameras

  • Humidifiers (NO dehumidifiers)

  • Fans (metal & plastic)

  • Satellite Receivers

  • Vacuums (NO cloth bags)

* There is a small fee for TVs/CRT TV’s and computer screen monitors. $25 for 21 inches and under. Over 21 inches is $35. Payment can be made in advance at http://recycling.eworksesi.org/.

All textiles need to be bagged. The following textiles are accepted:

Clothing Items: coats, hats, gloves, shirts, pants, dresses, scarves, belts, shoes, socks. Household textiles: sheets, towels, pillowcases.

Lisle Township collects items for recycling Monday - Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. at 4711 Indiana Ave., Lisle within the shipping container located in our parking lot. Residents are welcome to recycle their items within the marked gaylords inside. Call (630) 968 - 2087 for any questions. Stop in at the office to give any screen receipts to the receptionist and be directed to where to drop off your recyclables. ‍Please do not drop off items outside of the listed hours.

ITEMS NOTACCEPTED FOR RECYCLING AT LISLE TOWNSHIP:

DVD’s, Video & Audio Cassettes, Large Homes Appliances/White Goods, i.e. stoves, washing machines, refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, large stereo speakers (extra-large wooden-box speakers), batteries, freon devices, hazardous waste (mercury-containing devices, thermostats, thermometers, smoke detectors, liquids and gases, fluorescent tubes and lightbulbs), wet textiles, rugs, rags, textiles used with chemicals, blankets, pillows, pet beds, wet or soiled books.


Where Can I Recycle Items Not Accepted At Lisle Township?

For items that are not accepted at Lisle Township, DuPage County has a very helpful website providing important recycling information on where to recycle household items and where to locate local recycling events.

Recycling is divided into two general categories: curbside and non-curbside (drop-off) recycling.

Have you ever wondered what to do with hazardous materials?

The Household Hazardous Waste facility in Naperville is open and anyone in Illinois can use this resource at no charge located at 156 Fort Hill Drive, Naperville, IL 60540. You can find a list of all hazardous materials that they do and not accept here. Hours of operation are Saturdays and Sundays, 9 A.M. - 2 P.M., excluding holidays.
