Congressman Sean Casten recently visited Lisle Township to take part in a roundtable discussion commemorating the 61st anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid. Representatives from AARP, Age Options, AgeGuide, LeadingAge, DuPage Senior Citizens Council, Advocate Health, Lurie Children’s Hospital, and various local advocates engaged in a meaningful dialogue about the implications of federal funding reductions and the ongoing challenges these vital programs face, especially for seniors, individuals with disabilities, children, and low-income families. We wish to extend our sincere gratitude to all participants for their contributions to the discussion and their unwavering commitment to serving those in need.

Office Closure Alert
Due to a local power outage, Lisle Township Supervisor's Office and Food Pantry will be closed for the remainder of the day starting at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12.

Starting Monday, August 10, 2026, Lisle Township's Recycling Program will now be more accessible for residents to drop their recyclable items within our Recycling Drop-Off Container!
Located within the Lisle Township Supervisor's Office parking lot at 4711 Indiana Avenue, Township residents are welcome to bring the following items for recycling drop off: small household electronics, textiles, clothes, scrap metal, bikes and accessories, glasses, hearing aids, books, new office/school supplies, musical instruments, and bread tags between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m, Monday through Friday. All textiles need to be bagged, and there is a small fee for TVs and computer screens. Payment can be made by visiting: recycling.eworksesi.org.
Please stop inside the office at 4711 Indiana Avenue to show your receipt to the receptionist before drop off.
There are two parking spots reserved directly in front of the container for easy drop-off.
Recycling drop-off is open to all Lisle Township residents. No businesses please.

Back To School Supply Giveaway
Lisle Township is excited to host our Back To School Supply Giveaway! The goal of our giveaway is to help ease the financial burden of the new school year for resident parents and to help students feel confident when they return to class with necessary supplies.
Days: July 29, July 31, & August 3rd**
Time: 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.
Where: Lisle Township Food Pantry at 4711 Indiana Ave., Lisle, IL
We will be giving away pre-packed bags of school supplies for grades K-8 during Food Pantry distribution hours. You must be registered as a client with the Lisle Township Food Pantry to be eligible for the supply giveaway.
**School supplies will be given out on a first come first serve basis until they run out. Due to supply and demand, there will be a limit imposed of 2 pre-packed bags per family. We are unable to set aside or hold supplies for anyone.**

In observance of Juneteenth National Freedom Day, Lisle Township Offices and Food Pantry will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026.
Lisle Township offices will reopen for regular business on Monday, June 22, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
Cooling Center Information
Beat the heat and cool down at the Lisle Township Supervisor's Office located at 4711 Indiana Avenue during excessive heat warnings this summer. We serve as a local cooling center Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. to help our residents stay safe and cool. For a list of other Extreme Heat Cooling Centers and additional community resources, please visit: 211DuPage.gov
Staying in an air-conditioned indoor location as much as possible is the main action we recommend residents to take to prevent heat-related illnesses, injuries, and greater tragedies during hot weather.
Other measures include:
-Drink plenty of fluids, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
-Wear loose, lightweight, light-colored clothing.
-Check-in on friends and neighbors, especially the elderly, disabled, and families with small children.
-Never leave anyone, including pets or children, in a parked vehicle.
-Wear and reapply sunscreen as indicated on the package.
-Take breaks when working outside and plan strenuous outdoor activities for early mornings or evenings when temps are lower.
-Check the local news for health and safety updates.

Food Pantry Expansion of Hours Starting May 18, 2026
Lisle Township Food Pantry is thrilled to announce that we will be enhancing our services by adding evening pantry hours to our weekly distribution schedule, making it easier for working families and caregivers to access food.
Starting May 18, 2026, the Food Pantry will have expanded hours on Mondays and Wednesdays to better serve our community. If you or someone you know needs food assistance, we welcome you to shop during our new Food Pantry hours:
• Mondays: 12 - 6 p.m.
• Wednesdays: 12 - 6 p.m.
• Fridays: 12 - 4 p.m.
Clients can check in during pantry hours and shop for themselves from our frozen goods and non-perishable products on shelves. Those in need of food may visit the Pantry one time each week. The Food Pantry is located at 4711 Indiana Ave., in Lisle. Registration is required and can be completed at the Supervisor's Office with the receptionist. If you have any questions or need more information, please call our office at (630) 968-2087. Donations and volunteers are always appreciated and welcomed!

Lisle Township would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the partnering organizations, community members, volunteers, donors, and staff who generously contributed to our Food Pantry and/or sponsored a family through our Holiday Gift Program. This year, our community truly went above and beyond to support residents in need.
The incredible support and kindness we received made a significant difference, enabling us to assist our residents during this holiday season. Thanks to the Holiday Gift Program, we were able to sponsor 119 children from our community! Additionally, our Food Pantry experienced an outpouring of donations, allowing us to serve 446 families with holiday meal boxes for Christmas and New Year’s.
Thank you all for making such a remarkable impact in our community!

Lisle Township Food Pantry is grateful for all donations received this 2025 Thanksgiving season to stock our shelves and to provide Thanksgiving meal boxes to resident families in need.
We are so thankful for the support of the many organizations and individuals that donated food, funds, or their time to help feed our community for the holiday. With their support, we organized Thanksgiving meal boxes for over 296 resident families and stocked our shelves for regular grocery shopping.
A special thank you goes out to our regular Food Pantry volunteers who continue to dedicate their time and support to our neighbors in need. Thank you, Maria, Lisa, Anthony, Terri, Jerry, Sue, Gean, Ed, Peggy, Alisha, Alex, Julio, Sway, Clarence, Tony, & Jim.

Thanksgiving Holiday Office Closure Notice
All Lisle Township Offices and Food Pantry will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28, 2025, in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Our offices and Food Pantry will reopen on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 8:30 a.m.

Anticipated cuts to SNAP benefits could have a significant impact on families across Illinois, exacerbating food insecurity during a time when many are already struggling with rising costs. Loss of these benefits means many Lisle Township residents risk losing access to basic nutrition.

Are you looking for ways to help your local community members in need? Lisle Township's Food Pantry relies on community contributions to stock our shelves. Support from our community is critical now. No tax dollars are used to purchase food items. Any donation (big or small) is always appreciated!
We are always accepting donations of the following unexpired and unopened items: Applesauce, Canned or Fresh Meats, Canned or Fresh Vegetables/Fruits, Cooking Oils/Butter, Crackers, Dried Herbs and Spices, Instant Potatoes, Nuts, Pasta and Sauces, Rice, Soups, Formula, Personal Hygiene Items, Toilet Paper, Laundry Detergent, and Baby and Adult Diapers.
Cash and check donations are also accepted for bulk food purchases. Checks for monetary donations can be made out to “Lisle Township Foundation.”
All donations can be dropped off at the Lisle Township Supervisor's Office located at 4711 Indiana Avenue during regular hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Please check in with the receptionist when dropping off so your items can be promptly added to the Food Pantry inventory for distribution. If you have any questions, please call our office at (630) 968-2087.

Our Recycling Program Continues to Grow!
We accept a number of types of items that can not be put in your blue bin and that are not hazardous waste materials. The most popular are textiles, electronics, and books. You can drop them off Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. at 4711 Indiana Ave., Lisle. All textiles need to be bagged, and there is a small fee for TVs and computer screens. 🦟Lisle Township has scheduled a community-wide adult mosquito control treatment beginning after dusk on the evening of July 30th, weather permitting. The application will be performed by Clarke Environmental, Lisle Township’s contracted mosquito management service provider. Treatments will be conducted using truck-mounted Ultra-Low-Volume (ULV) spray machines and products registered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to improve outdoor comfort and combat mosquito-borne disease. Mosquito control treatments, applied correctly and using EPA-registered products, will not harm humans, pets, animals, or the environment and are an important practice for protecting the public from mosquito-borne diseases. A public hearing before the Supervisor and Board of Trustees of Lisle Township on the amended 2023-2024 appropriation ordinance will be held September 25, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at Lisle Township Supervisor Offices, 4711 Indiana Ave., Lisle, Illinois. The proposed draft of the amended 2023-2024 appropriation ordinance of Lisle Township is available for public inspection at the Township Offices, 4711 Indiana Ave., Lisle, Illinois, and at the Office of the Township Clerk 2121 Ogden Ave., Lisle, Illinois, on or after August 23, 2023. After the public hearing and before final action is taken on the appropriation ordinance, the corporate authorities may revise, alter, increase, or decrease the items contained in the appropriation ordinance.
