She has been active in many social and political organizations since college, including sitting on a statewide board advocating for environmental protections. Service has been a theme throughout her life. She would like to expand outreach within our community and further develop the relationship between the Township Government and the people it serves. Local government, at its core, is neighbor helping neighbor. She graduated from Winona State University with a degree in urban and Community Studies, emphasizing Community Organizing. After spending a couple of years organizing, she has an eclectic resume that also includes mortgage banking, sales, marketing in and out of the country, organizational management, and corporate sales. She has been politically active within our county since 2015 and has been active in many of the cities she has lived in throughout her life. A robust social safety net is essential to her so our township citizens can access the necessary resources. Critical issues for Susan are complete transparency with citizens, and expanding services for our Senior Citizens and those with food insecurity. Now a retired teacher, Susan taught in IPSD Middle Schools. Previously, she worked for the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF), the public pension fund that administers retirement, disability, and death benefits for employees of local governments in Illinois. Lisle Township uses this for its employees. Susan worked in several capacities at IMRF, including Office Services Manager, overseeing the company’s support operations. Her responsibilities included budgeting, purchasing, staff hiring, and retention. A key focus in her work at IMRF was maintaining fiscal responsibility by providing cost-effective services to the staff. Whether working as a teacher or manager, Susan remained dedicated to teamwork and creating a positive, respectful environment with open communication. Susan Howell’s commitment to helping others has been shown in her volunteer work over the years. Caring for Senior Citizens led her to volunteer at St. Patrick’s Residence Nursing and Rehabilitation in Naperville, where she learned to feed people who could not feed themselves. Later, she served on the PTA at Builta Elementary School, an IPSD 204 school, serving as PTA President and Health and Safety Coordinator. Susan volunteered at Loaves and Fishes for several years and recently began volunteering at the Lisle Township Food Pantry. That’s where he learned the importance of taking care of each other, and it’s one of the driving reasons he believes in the importance of effective local government to benefit the community. Gerry’s a retired Pipefitter, a father, and a grandfather. He’s volunteered in many capacities, such as coaching youth soccer for seventeen years, as a Cub Scout Webelos Leader, and as President of the Oak Forest Jaycees. Gerry has served the Lisle Township Democratic Organization since 2016 – as a PC, PC Coordinator, LTDO Chair, a Team Leader, and has done much recruiting work and volunteering in other capacities. Gerry Galloway is a problem-solver. As a Pipefitter, he’s worked in construction as a superintendent, a foreman, and with the tools. He also did service and repair, estimating, and sales. He was the go-to guy for tough jobs. She is retired now but has been employed in a variety of endeavors using her interpersonal skills, ability to plan ahead, and ability to work out the details. Whether it was a sales position at Republic Steel, paralegal work, or teaching English language learners, Donna brought people together to achieve the mission. Donna Rae Prepejchal pledges to bring civility to Township meetings. Her philosophy is to build on our strengths and make the most of what we already have. Advocating for mental health services and environmental causes has been her focus throughout the years.
