NETWORKING MEETINGS

Job Club every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m.

Career & Networking Center, 1815 Diehl Road, Suite 900, Naperville 60563

It’s a fact: More people land jobs through active networking—upwards of 85 percent—than by any other job search method. Expand your network with other job seekers (everybody knows somebody), find out who is hiring and about jobs that may never be advertised, share successful strategies and contact names, and practice your “elevator speech”—a brief two-minute verbal resume about positions desired and target employers—and let us help you. Free. No need to RSVP.

LEARN ABOUT JOB OPPORTUNITIES WITH THE U.S. CENSUS BUREAU

Wed., Jan. 22, 10:30 a.m. (brief presentation after networking and 1-1 sessions)

Career & Networking Center, 1815 Diehl Road, Suite 900, Naperville 60563

A Census Bureau representative will provide a brief overview of job opportunities with the census and answer your questions at the end of our networking meeting and be available for one-on-one informational sessions after Job Club is over. The starting pay rate is $29.50/hour. The largest number of positions is for census takers, but there are a variety of positions open.

WHAT WORKS FROM ONE WHO’S BEEN THERE

Friday, Jan. 31, at 10 a.m.

Lisle Library, 777 Front St., Lisle 60532

We’re excited to welcome back Job Club alum Debbie Moran, who was with us earlier in 2019 before she landed as business development manager with The Salem Group, a staffing and workforce managed services organization in Oakbrook Terrace. She’ll share with us what worked and what didn’t in her search, and what’s she’s learned from working in the recruiting industry that can help you. This dynamic speaker is a Toastmaster aficionado and it shows! Come meet Debbie for the first time or to catch up.
