Around the Township

Lisle Township has an open door policy, and residents are welcome to visit the Township offices and learn more about our services and how your tax dollars are spent. It is our duty to use your tax dollars wisely and in the most cost efficient manner possible. The Township fills a specific need within our communities that other units of government – like cities, villages, the County and State – do not.

By law, Illinois Townships are charged with three basic functions:

  1. General Assistance for those in need;
  2. The assessment of real property for the basis of local taxation;
  3. Maintenance of all roads and bridges outside federal, state and other local jurisdictions.

Aligned with those services established by state law, Lisle Township provides vital service to our neighbors in need, such as.

  • Ride DuPage, a transportation program for Seniors and the disabled;
  • Job Club and Counseling, to support residents seeking employment;
  • A Food Pantry, to help feed those who are hungry;
  • Triad, a program with the City of Naperville and Naperville Township to assist senior/disabled citizens with special needs;
  • “LIHEAP” applications, a DuPage County program offering financial help with electric/gas bills;

We also provide other services for the convenience of our residents, such as our Passport program, which provides easy access to apply for U.S. passports.

The Lisle Township staff are responsive, highly trained, caring and dedicated to you, our residents. Please review the services listed on the pages of our website, and if you have any questions, please call, email or stop by our offices.
