GENERAL ASSISTANCE

The Township offers financial aid to meet the basic needs of individuals for health and well being. In order to be eligible, a person must meet the financial and non-financial requirements, and have no other potential means of income. This is an ongoing grant program with Work Program requirements.

EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE

Financial assistance to alleviate a life threatening circumstance or meet a basic need such as food, rent, utilities, prescriptions, or personal hygiene items.  Assistance is issued once in a 12-month period to Township residents who meet the financial eligibility requirements.

SALVATION ARMY

Funds for the villages of Lisle and Woodridge are issued through the Township.  These limited funds are used to meet a financial crisis such as utility disconnection or possible eviction.

Low Income Heating Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
DuPage County administers the LIHEAP program.  However for the convenience of our clients, the Township assists in accepting applications.  It is designed to help eligible people with grants paid directly to the utilities, for gas and electric bills.  This program is income qualified based on family size and runs from September 1st thru May 31st of each year.  (September and October are priority months for seniors and the disabled.)

 

CIRCUIT BREAKER

Circuit Breaker is an Illinois Department on Aging program. Seniors and disabled individuals who meet the financial eligibility guidelines may receive some financial relief for real estate taxes, rent, cost of pharmaceuticals, nursing home charges, and for individuals over 65, automobile license costs.

You must file each year. Applicants may register online, www.cbrx.il.gov or stop by the Lisle Township Supervisor’s office to receive a Circuit Breaker Application booklet (Form IL-1363).
