Who and What: DuPage County through its Regulatory Services Department has established a call in center for residents and business owners to call in, email or write their initial damage assessment information for flooding which occurred during the week of April 15, 2013.

Why: We are cataloguing flood damages in attempts to submit for federal disaster relief for the residents and business owners. Your information will help in our attempts to gain these relief funds.

When: To start staff will be available to accept your information on Saturday April 20, 2013 from 8 AM to 4:30 PM and then available during regular business hours thereafter, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Information Needed: When you call, email or write please provide at least the following information:

1.      Indicate you are responding regarding flood damages on your property

2.      Provide Your Name

3.      Provide Property Address

4.      Provide Phone Number

5.      Provide what type of building you have (i.e.: Single Family Home, Apartment, business etc.)

6.      Provide type and degree of damage

Flood Related Trash

We are directing unincorporated Lisle Township residents to put Flood Related Trash at the curb for pick up.  We strongly suggest that you document what is put to the street with a photograph and inventory when and where possible.  This will assist you in any possible claims at future dates.  Pickup of said trash may or may not coincide with the regular garbage pick up, please understand the complexity of the situation.

Flood Notes from Lisle Township Highway Department

Thursday / Friday    April 18 / 19

With the tremendous amount of rain water that deluged our area, it certainly wasn’t possible to stop the flooding of some homes and property.  But our crew worked very hard to mitigate flooded areas.

They:

Cleared storm grates of debris,

Brought in truckloads of sand, sand-bagged some areas and bagged it for pick-up by some residents,

Set up barricades to block streets and sidewalks that were flooded and too dangerous to cross,

Reinforced some sidewalks and roadways that were undercut by flowing water,

Jetted storm sewers and swept roads as the water receded,

And helped other municipalities.

DISASTER AID

There is a chance that DuPage county and the state of Illinois will qualify for federal disaster relief.  If we qualify it may be available for uninsured damages and losses for public entities and for individual residents.  Please document your damages with pictures, receipts or anything that might help you recover from the losses you might have sustained.  A web site with more information is www.dupageco.org/protectdupage.

Town Fund/General Assistance

Notice is hereby given that a Tentative Budget and Appropriation Ordinance for Lisle Township in the County of DuPage, State of Illinois for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2013 and ending March 31, 2014 is on file and conveniently available for public inspection at the Lisle Township Building, 4711 Indiana Avenue, Lisle, IL 60532.

Notice is further hereby given that a public hearing on said Budget and Appropriation Ordinance will be held at 7:30 p.m., May 8th, 2013 at the township building (4711 Indiana Ave, Lisle) and that final hearing and action on this ordinance may be taken at this meeting.

The Supervisors Offices will be closed

The Assessors office will be open for all regular business

The Food Pantry will be open for morning monthly pickups and 11:00 perishables.  It will be closed for the afternoon.  The food pantry will not be able to answer phones with the Supervisors office closed, please do not call.
