High school seniors may apply now for one of seven $2,000 scholarships to be awarded this year by Township Officials of Illinois (TOI). Applicants must submit the completed application (available on this website and at the Lisle Township Supervisor’s Office, 4711 Indiana Ave., Lisle, IL 60532),cover letter, an interview with a current township official, transcript of grades, two letters of recommendation and an essay on The Role of Township Government in Today’s Society and in the Future.

Household hazardous waste includes only materials purchased for cleaning or maintaining a home.
Accepts: Oil-based paint, stain, varnish, solvents, automotive fluids, aerosol cans, household cleaners, mercury, poisons, pesticides, insecticides, flammables, household batteries, sealed fluorescent light bulbs and tubes, hobby chemicals, expired and unused prescription medications.
Not Accepted: Latex paint, smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, electronics, propane tanks, compressed gas cylinders and ammunition. Any waste from a business, school, government or non-profit.

TAX LEVY ORDINANCE

LISLE TOWNSHIP

ORDINANCE # 2011-3

An ordinance levying taxes for all town purposes for LISLE TOWNSHIP, DuPage County, Illinois, for the tax year 2011 collectible in 2012.

BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Trustees of LISLE TOWNSHIP, DuPage County, Illinois as follows:

SECTION 1: That the sum of: Two Million, Two Hundred Seventy Seven Thousand, Nine Hundred Dollars ($2,314,485.00) are hereby levied upon all property subject to taxation within the Township as that property is assessed and equalized, in order to meet and defray all the necessary expenses and liabilities of the Township as required by statute or voted by the people in accordance with the law for such purposes as:

SECTION 2: That the amount levied for each object and purpose shall be as follows:

SECTION 4:       That if any section, subdivision, or sentence of this ordinance shall for any reason be held invalid or to be unconstitutional, such finding shall not effect the validity of the remaining portion of this ordinance.

SECTION 5:       That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect after its adoption, as provided by law.

ADOPTED this 14th day of December 2011, pursuant to a roll call vote by the Board of Trustees of LISLE TOWNSHIP, DuPage County, Illinois.

Lisle Township is happy to offer anyone this prescription discount card.  It is a discount card program, helping consumers save money on medication if the prescription is not covered by insurance.  It is expected that individuals using the card will save 50% annually and it covers over 60,000 brand name and generic drugs.  This card is offered free of charge to ANY Lisle Township resident.  It cannot be used in conjunction with another prescription card, but it is permissable to see if the savings on this card is more than a paid insurance program.  For more information on the plan including participating pharmacies, go to www.cost2coastrx.com

There is NO membership fee, no membership list, no application to fill out.  At no time will any personal information be collected.  Cards are generic in nature and usable by anyone in posession of the card.

The staff at Lisle Township invites you to visit your Township and see how we are putting your tax dollars to work. We champion the philosophy that these are your buildings, your offices and your vehicles. It is our duty to fulfill this responsibility in the most cost efficient manner. Our proposed budget for the 2012/2013 fiscal year has been posted above.  Click on the links to view them. We do not duplicate services that are done by the villages, cities, county or state.

By law, Illinois Townships are charged with three basic functions:

1. General Assistance for the indigent;
2. The assessment of real property for the basis of local taxation;
3. Maintenance of all roads and bridges outside federal, state and other local jurisdictions.

Beyond those services established by state law, Township Government provides vital service to “The People Next Door.” Lisle Township has a senior citizens transportation program, “Job Club” to support residents seeking employment, food pantry, passport program, “Triad” a program with the City of Naperville and Naperville Township to assist senior/disabled citizens with special needs. We also assist residents with “Liheap” applications, a DuPage County program offering financial help with electric/gas bills.
